FAQ

Do I need to rent a car in Las Vegas?

Not if you stay on the Strip or Downtown and stick to those areas. Walking, rideshare, the Las Vegas Monorail and RTC buses cover most trips. A car makes sense for Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam or off-Strip neighborhoods. See Las Vegas without a car.

Are resort fees included in the price I see online?

Under the Federal Trade Commission's fee rule, hotels and booking sites must show the total price including mandatory fees such as resort fees. Taxes and optional charges such as parking can still be added, so review the final summary before you book. Details are in our resort fee guide.

How many days do you need in Las Vegas?

Three nights is enough for a first visit focused on the Strip, shows and pools. Add a day or two if you want Downtown, a day trip to Red Rock Canyon or Hoover Dam, or a slower pace. Our first-timer guide covers how to plan those days.
