The best EDC Las Vegas hotels are the ones at an official shuttle stop, because the festival isn’t on the Strip. It’s at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, about 10 miles north of downtown by the Speedway’s own description, and the gates stay open until 5:30 a.m. EDC 2027 also changes format: two separate three-night weekends, EDC Dusk on May 14–16 and EDC Dawn on May 21–23, so you’re really choosing a weekend, a shuttle stop and a hotel.

Quick answer

Stay at a hotel that is itself a shuttle stop. Horseshoe sits at 3645 Las Vegas Blvd S, the address of the Mid-Strip stop, and is the best center-Strip base. Rio is a stop with free self-parking and the only Opening Ceremony shuttle. The STRAT is the budget stop on the north Strip. Book Hotel EDC at Virgin Hotels if you want the official package and its Premier shuttle stop, and Camp EDC if you’d rather skip the commute.

EDC Las Vegas 2027 dates, hours and venue

EDC Las Vegas 2027 runs May 14–16 and May 21–23 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 N Las Vegas Blvd. The Speedway has hosted the festival since 2011. Insomniac sells each weekend separately (EDC Dusk, EDC Dawn) or together, and it bills the whole stretch as “12 Days of EDC,” with events between the two weekends.

WeekendNightGates
EDC DuskFriday, May 145 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
EDC DuskSaturday, May 15, and Sunday, May 167 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
EDC DawnFriday, May 215 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
EDC DawnSaturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 237 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

The festival runs rain or shine. You must be 18 to enter and 21 for alcohol and VIP areas, and there’s no same-day re-entry. GV Wire reported that the two-weekend format “is being designed with lower capacity,” but Insomniac hasn’t published a per-weekend figure.

Ticket prices are in the cost table below; the official site also offers a $10-deposit layaway plan.

The official shuttle page lists four Standard stops, plus Virgin Hotels for Premier riders. Here’s what sits at or near each one. The distances are our own straight-line calculations from map coordinates; the drive is longer.

Before you book: the shuttle page sits on the 2027 site but is undated and identical to last year’s program, and 2027 passes haven’t gone on sale. Treat these stops as current, not confirmed.

1. Horseshoe: Best for the Mid-Strip Stop

Best for the Mid-Strip Stop

Horseshoe Las Vegas

Center Strip Mid-range

  • Four Corners location
  • WSOP Hall of Fame poker room
  • Monorail station
  • Blu Pool

The Mid-Strip stop’s listed address, 3645 Las Vegas Blvd S, is Horseshoe’s own street address, so you stay at the stop, not near it. It sits at the Four Corners, with large standard rooms and a lower resort fee than its Caesars neighbors.

Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.

Horseshoe’s resort fee is $49.95 plus tax a night (as of October 2026), versus $54.95 plus tax at Paris and Caesars Palace. Paris is next door, the Four Corners bridges link Horseshoe with The Vanderpump Hotel, Caesars Palace and Bellagio, and Flamingo and The LINQ sit a little farther north, so a big group can split across several hotels and share one stop.

Watch out for: at least one guest per room must be 21 to check in, and Horseshoe holds a $50-a-day incidental deposit (as of October 2026). The shuttle page gives the stop’s address, not the exact loading spot, so check the instructions that come with your pass.

2. Rio: Best Stop for Drivers and Opening Night

Rio Hotel & Casino tower in Las Vegas

Best Stop for Drivers and Opening Night

Rio Hotel & Casino

Off-Strip Mid-range

  • Free self-parking
  • Seasonal Ipanema Pool
  • Off-Strip value
  • Near the Palms

Rio is a Standard and Premier shuttle stop and the only pickup for the Opening Ceremony shuttle. Self-parking is free, which helps if you drive to Vegas and want the car parked all weekend.

Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.

That shuttle runs Friday only, 4 to 6 p.m., as a $20 add-on (as of October 2026), since the Cosmic Meadow gates open at 5 p.m. that day. Palms, nearby on Flamingo Road, is the alternative if Rio sells out: it parks everyone free and charges a $43.99 resort fee plus tax, against Rio’s $52 plus tax (as of October 2026). Read our Rio review for the rooms and the Ipanema Pool, which is seasonal.

Watch out for: Rio is the farthest stop from the Speedway as the crow flies, and an adult 21 or older must be present to check in. Rio holds $100 a night for incidentals on a credit card and doesn’t accept cash (as of October 2026).

3. The STRAT: Best Budget Shuttle Stop

Best Budget Shuttle Stop

The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower

North Strip Budget

  • STRAT Tower & SkyPod
  • Thrill rides & SkyJump
  • Top of the World
  • Two pools

The STRAT is the shuttle stop at 2000 Las Vegas Blvd S and the closest Strip stop to the Speedway on our straight-line map. It’s a budget-priced hotel with two pools, the all-ages Swim & Social and the 21+ WET24, which suit the long afternoons before the gates open.

Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.

If The STRAT is full, SAHARA and Circus Circus are the nearest other hotels; both offer free parking, and SAHARA has its own review. The STRAT’s resort fee is $49.95 plus tax (as of October 2026), and self-parking is paid unless you have a Nevada ID.

Watch out for: you must be at least 21 with a government-issued ID to check in, and the deposit is $75 a day up to $300 a stay (as of October 2026).

4. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas: Best for Hotel EDC

Best for Hotel EDC

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

Off-Strip Upscale

  • Free self & valet parking
  • Hilton Curio Collection
  • Resort pool
  • Concert venue

Virgin Hotels is the home of Hotel EDC, which “returns for its fifth year” in 2027, and it’s the extra pickup point for Premier shuttle passes. Self-parking and valet are both free, and the resort has a pool scene and its own concert venue.

Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.

Hotel EDC 2027 sells three-night stays for each weekend, DUSK (May 14–17) and DAWN (May 21–24), from $1,563 per person at double occupancy with taxes and fees included and a $90 food and beverage credit. The DUSK TILL DAWN package covers May 14–24, 10 nights including 4 free, from $3,119 per person with a $300 credit (as of October 2026). The daily resort fee is extra, and the primary guest must be 21. Packages are sold on the official Hotel EDC page.

Is Hotel EDC worth it?

Hotel EDC is priced per person, so two people sharing a three-night stay pay at least $3,126 ($1,563 × 2) before the resort fee. Its shuttle and private car service are still “coming soon,” so don’t count on transportation yet. Book it if you want the official EDC-branded stay with no planning. If price matters most, compare the same nights at Virgin on their own, or a room at a Standard stop, plus a shuttle pass once 2027 prices are out.

5. Golden Nugget: Best Downtown Base (and for Under-21s)

Golden Nugget Las Vegas guest room with a king bed

Best Downtown Base (and for Under-21s)

Golden Nugget Las Vegas

Downtown Mid-range

  • On Fremont Street
  • Free guest self-parking
  • The Tank pool
  • Steakhouses

EDC is 18+, but most resorts make you 21 to check in. Golden Nugget’s official minimum is 18, and it’s one of the downtown hotels nearest the World Market Center stop. Hotel guests park free.

Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.

The nearest hotels we cover to the World Market Center stop are on Fremont Street, but no official source gives a walk time, so check the route before counting on walking. The Plaza is the budget alternative (rooftop pool, free guest parking) and Circa the upscale one, though Circa is 21+ for everyone; our downtown Las Vegas hotels guide compares them. Golden Nugget’s resort fee is $46 plus tax (as of October 2026), and at its pool complex, The Tank, the shark aquarium and waterslide are closed for repairs.

Watch out for: downtown is the closest shuttle-stop area to the Speedway as the crow flies (Circa is about 10.2 miles by our calculation), but you still need the shuttle, a rideshare or a car.

Shuttle-stop hotel, North Las Vegas or Camp EDC?

The right setup depends on how you’ll get home when the gates close at 5:30 a.m.

StrategyBest forThe catch
Hotel at an official shuttle stopMost first-timers and groups without a sober driverThe pass works only at the stop you chose, and there’s no service from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Hotel in North Las VegasGroups with a designated driver and budget travelers with a carNo official shuttle, no walking along Las Vegas Boulevard, and you can’t leave a car in the lots overnight
Camp EDCPeople who want zero commuteEntry details aren’t published yet, and you need a camping pass plus a festival wristband

North Las Vegas. The Motel 6 near the Speedway is about 1.3 miles from the track by our straight-line calculation, and the chain hotels around I-15 and Craig Road are about 6 to 7 miles out. That sounds close, but EDC bans walking to the Speedway on Las Vegas Boulevard, rideshares can use only one lot, and parking means someone drives back after the gates close at 5:30 a.m. Our guide to hotels near Las Vegas Motor Speedway covers those hotels.

Camp EDC. On-site camping is sold for EDC Dusk, EDC Dawn or all 12 days: the Cozy ShiftPod, the Cozier ShiftPod (beds and linens) and RV Camping with power hookups, water refills and pump-outs. Campers must be 18 or older and need a camping pass plus a festival wristband, sold separately.

Getting to EDC: shuttles, driving and rideshare

Official shuttles. Standard passes cover the four stops above. Buses leave continuously from 6:30 to 11 p.m., and return trips start at 2 a.m. and end 60 minutes after the music ends at Kinetic Field, with no service between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Hotel shuttle lots open at 5:30 p.m. Premier passes add Virgin Hotels and reserved times: departures at 6:30, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m., returns at 3, 4:30 and 6 a.m., plus a merch item and a security fast lane. Official buses use “a dedicated route to bypass regular traffic” and drop you outside the entrance in the Red Lot. Passes are non-refundable, sold only through Front Gate Tickets, and valid only at the stop you choose, so pick the hotel first. Full details are on the official EDC shuttle page.

Third-party shuttles. Eventbrite lists third-party M Ride shuttles from Circa, The LINQ, Resorts World and Westgate, but they aren’t part of the official program, and EDC says third-party shuttles “will not have access to the event grounds.”

Driving. EDC tells drivers “Do NOT use Google or Waze.” From the Strip, take I-15 North to Exit 54 (Speedway Blvd); from downtown, take Las Vegas Boulevard north. Coming from the north, loop around via Exit 50 (Lamb Blvd), because Exits 54 and 58 are closed to that traffic. General parking is free in the Brown and Green Lots, reached via Las Vegas Boulevard. Lots open at 3 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, cars must leave every day or be towed, and tailgating, drinking and sleeping in vehicles are banned. Paid Premier Parking uses Exit 58 (Apex) to the Yellow Lot.

Rideshare and taxis. All drop-offs and pickups happen at the Guest Drop-Off and Pickup lot (the Mid-Brown Lot), reached from I-15 North at the E. Tropical Parkway exit. There are no street drop-offs on Las Vegas Boulevard, and EDC warns riders to “expect longer wait times, dynamic pricing, and product unavailability.” The Nevada Taxicab Authority approved a special-event surcharge for EDC 2026, but no order covering EDC 2027 had been filed as of October 2026.

How far is EDC from the Strip? The Speedway says it’s “about 10 miles north of downtown Las Vegas.” By our straight-line calculation, the Strip-area stops are 11.9 (The STRAT) to 14.6 miles (Rio) away, and the road distance is longer. EDC publishes no drive time, saying it “cannot accurately predict the exact traffic.”

What an EDC weekend costs per person

Resort fees are charged per room, so splitting them helps. At Rio, three nights cost 3 × $52 = $156 plus tax per room; four friends sharing pay $39 each plus tax. The official room program on the EDC site advertises discounted rates, Headliner-only pricing and discounted resort fees, with “No charge if you cancel by Tuesday, April 13, 2027 at 5pm PT.” Flexible on dates? Booking tips for EDC groups

  • Check the age rule before you book. The STRAT, Rio, Virgin Hotels and Palms require you to be 21 to check in, Horseshoe and The LINQ require at least one guest to be 21, and Circa admits no one under 21. Golden Nugget and Westgate accept 18-year-olds; Flamingo’s FAQ says 18 but another Caesars source says 21, so confirm. More in our Las Vegas hotel check-in age guide.
  • Budget for the deposit. Each room’s card takes a hold at check-in, from $50 a day at Horseshoe to $100 a night at Rio (as of October 2026). Our hotel deposits guide explains debit-card holds.
  • Don’t overload a room. Limits vary: Park MGM caps rooms at four guests, for example, while Caesars’ official room catalog lists no maximum for its suites, so ask the hotel before squeezing six people into two queens. Bigger groups should look at suites for groups.
  • Plan your pool days. The gates open at 5 or 7 p.m., leaving the afternoons free; compare Las Vegas hotels with pools.
  • Don’t assume a minimum stay. We found no official minimum-stay rules for EDC weekends, so read the booking terms for the nights you want.

FAQ

When is EDC Las Vegas 2027?

EDC Las Vegas 2027 runs over two weekends at Las Vegas Motor Speedway: EDC Dusk on May 14–16 and EDC Dawn on May 21–23. You can buy one weekend or both, and Insomniac fills the days between with “12 Days of EDC” events.

What time does EDC Las Vegas end?

The gates close at 5:30 a.m. every night. They open at 5 p.m. on the two Fridays and 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Standard return shuttles start at 2 a.m. and keep running until 60 minutes after the music ends at Kinetic Field, and Premier returns leave at 3, 4:30 and 6 a.m.

Where are the EDC shuttle stops?

The current official page lists World Market Center, The Rio, The STRAT and Mid-Strip (3645 Las Vegas Blvd S, Horseshoe’s address), plus Virgin Hotels for Premier passes. The page is undated and 2027 passes aren’t on sale yet, so confirm the stops when they are released.

What’s the best way to get to EDC Las Vegas?

The official shuttle from a hotel at one of its stops. It uses a dedicated route that bypasses regular traffic and drops you outside the entrance in the Red Lot. Rideshares can use only the Mid-Brown Lot via the Tropical Parkway exit, where EDC warns of dynamic pricing, and drivers must leave the free lots every day.

Lock in your hotel once you’ve picked a weekend and a shuttle stop; the shuttle pass can follow when it goes on sale. If EDC is part of a longer trip, start with where to stay in Las Vegas.
