Cheap hotels on the Las Vegas Strip aren’t always cheap by checkout: the resort fee, 13.38% room tax and parking can add more than $70 a night to the rate you booked. This ranking puts the Strip’s budget picks in order by what those extras really cost and what you get for them, from a castle with a water slide to a small hotel that charges no resort fee at all.
Quick answer
Excalibur is the best cheap hotel on the Las Vegas Strip for most travelers: newly renovated rooms, four pools with a water slide and the lowest resort fee in MGM’s Strip line-up ($45 plus tax). Drivers should book Treasure Island, where self-parking and valet are free. Fee-averse travelers should look at Best Western Plus Casino Royale, the only hotel on this list with no resort fee.
Cheap Strip hotels at a glance
Every hotel here sits at the budget or mid-range price level; the resort fee and parking columns are what turn a cheap rate into a real one. For the Strip’s top hotels at every price, see our ranking of the best hotels in Las Vegas.

The real cost of a cheap Strip room
Clark County taxes the resort fee as room rent, so the Strip’s 13.38% room tax applies to it as well as to the rate. Here is what fees and parking add each night, before the room itself (as of October 2026):
| Hotel | Resort fee with tax | Self-parking for hotel guests | Added per night if you drive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best Western Plus Casino Royale | None | Free | $0 |
| Circus Circus | About $51.02 ($45, reported) | Free | About $51 |
| Treasure Island | About $56.63 ($49.95) | Free | About $57 |
| SAHARA | About $62.30 ($54.95) | Free | About $62 |
| Excalibur, Luxor, New York-New York | About $51.02 ($45) | $20 a day | About $71 |
| Flamingo, The LINQ, Harrah’s, Horseshoe | About $56.63 ($49.95) | Paid* | About $57 plus parking |
| The STRAT | About $56.63 ($49.95) | Paid* | About $57 plus parking |
*Caesars and The STRAT don’t publish garage rates. Las Vegas Advisor lists $20 per 24 hours for hotel guests at Caesars’ Strip hotels; at The STRAT, parking is free only with a Nevada ID or plates. Caesars Rewards Platinum members and above park free.
That’s how a cheaper rate can lose. For a driver, Excalibur adds about $71 a night and Treasure Island about $57, so once tax is counted, Excalibur’s room rate has to be roughly $13 lower than TI’s before it actually costs less. Since May 12, 2025, the FTC’s fee rule has required hotels and booking sites to show a total that includes mandatory fees, but taxes can still be listed separately and the resort fee is often collected at the hotel, so check the “pay at property” line. Our guides to Las Vegas parking fees and resort fees cover the rest of the Strip.
1. Excalibur: Best Cheap Hotel Overall

Best Cheap Hotel Overall
Excalibur Hotel & Casino
- Pools with water slide
- Fun Dungeon arcade
- Tournament of Kings
- Free tram to Luxor & Mandalay Bay
Excalibur pairs the lowest resort fee in MGM’s Strip line-up ($45 plus tax) with newly renovated Resort Tower rooms (352 square feet, per MGM). Four pools with a water slide, the Fun Dungeon arcade and the Tournament of Kings dinner show keep kids busy, and a free tram runs to Luxor and Mandalay Bay.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Guests call it budget-friendly and convenient. The Excalibur Bridge crosses Tropicana Avenue to New York-New York, MGM puts T-Mobile Arena 10 to 15 minutes away on foot, and Excalibur sells prepaid parking for select Allegiant Stadium events. The Review-Journal reported in April 2026 that MGM sells a two-night all-inclusive package at Excalibur and Luxor covering the resort fee, meals, a show and parking.
Watch out for: $20-a-day self-parking for hotel guests, dated decor outside the renovated Resort Tower, thin walls, no coffee maker and a $25-a-day fridge rental. You must be 21 to check in.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
2. Treasure Island: Best for Drivers

Best for Drivers
Treasure Island (TI)
- Free self & valet parking
- Mystère by Cirque du Soleil
- Heated pool
- Across from The Venetian
TI’s $49.95-plus-tax resort fee includes free self-parking and free valet, so drivers pay less in add-ons here than at hotels with a $45 fee and a paid garage. Deluxe rooms measure about 400 square feet, and pedestrian bridges lead to The Palazzo, The Venetian and the Fashion Show mall.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
The fee also covers Wi-Fi of up to 20 Mbps on unlimited devices, a 2-for-1 cocktail voucher and gym access for two. Mystère by Cirque du Soleil plays here, the heated pool has a 25-person hot tub, and Wynn and Encore sit across Spring Mountain Road. TI joined Accor’s Handwritten Collection in August 2026, so ALL Accor members earn points, and members-only TV-ad specials can drop the resort fee altogether.
Watch out for: dated decor, thin walls and traffic noise, little free shade at the pool, no in-room coffee makers and limited pool dates in March and November. TI sits at the mid-range price level, so compare totals, not rates.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
3. Flamingo: Best Cheap Center-Strip Location

Best Center-Strip Location
Flamingo Las Vegas
- Free Wildlife Habitat
- All-ages Family Pool
- 21+ GO Pool
- Center-Strip location
Budget-level rates in the middle of the Strip: Caesars Palace is across the boulevard, the LINQ Promenade is next door through a covered walkway, and the Flamingo/Caesars Palace Monorail station is on the property. The 15-acre pool complex has an all-ages Family Pool with a waterslide and the 21+ GO Pool.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
The free Wildlife Habitat, four acres of gardens with Chilean flamingos, pelicans and koi, is on site, and the resort is marking its 80th year in 2026 with a redesigned lobby, front desk and lobby bar. Standard FL, FAB and GO rooms are about 350 square feet, and 950-square-foot Bunk Bed Suites work for families.
Watch out for: renovation work around the lobby and check-in, a $49.95-plus-tax resort fee, garage fees Caesars doesn’t publish and a 4 PM check-in. The Family Pool’s waterslide runs Friday through Sunday only and has a 48-inch height minimum.
4. Best Western Plus Casino Royale: Best With No Resort Fee
Best With No Resort Fee
Best Western Plus Casino Royale – Center Strip
- No resort fee
- Free parking
- Center-Strip location
- Budget rates
The only hotel on this list with no resort fee, and self-parking is free, so the rate you book plus room tax is close to the whole bill. It’s a small, no-frills hotel on the center Strip: 152 rooms, all non-smoking, with a casino, a Denny’s, a food court and an Outback Steakhouse.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Don’t expect resort extras; this is a place to sleep between shows. The hotel’s own website still describes it as directly across the street from The Mirage, which closed in July 2024 and is being rebuilt as Hard Rock Las Vegas for late 2027, so expect construction across the boulevard. For more fee-free options, see our guide to Las Vegas hotels without resort fees.
Watch out for: no valet and few amenities beyond the casino and restaurants.
5. Luxor: Best for Allegiant Stadium

Best for Allegiant Stadium
Luxor Hotel & Casino
- Pyramid & tower rooms
- Blue Man Group
- Titanic & Bodies exhibitions
- Free tram
MGM puts Allegiant Stadium less than half a mile from Luxor on foot, and the pyramid charges the same $45-plus-tax resort fee as Excalibur. Tower Premier rooms measure 449 square feet, among the biggest standard rooms at this price level, while pyramid rooms (420 square feet) have slanted windows.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Blue Man Group plays nightly, the Titanic and Bodies exhibitions and Discovering King Tut’s Tomb are on site, and gamers get HyperX Arena. The free tram and an indoor walkway through The Shoppes at Mandalay Place connect to Mandalay Bay. More in our Luxor review and our guide to hotels near Allegiant Stadium.
Watch out for: dated rooms (especially some in the pyramid), stuffy air with no opening windows, long walks from the garage and $20-a-day self-parking. The Buffet at Luxor appears to have closed.
6. Horseshoe Las Vegas: Biggest Rooms in the Center

Biggest Rooms in the Center
Horseshoe Las Vegas
- Four Corners location
- WSOP Hall of Fame poker room
- Monorail station
- Blu Pool
The former Bally’s has 450-plus-square-foot Resort Rooms, renovated in 2018, at the Four Corners in the middle of the Strip. The resort fee is $49.95 plus tax, the Horseshoe/Paris Monorail station is on site, and the World Series of Poker Hall of Fame Poker Room has 18 tables.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Families get The Arcade and Twilight Zone by Monster Mini Golf, and an interior walkway leads to Paris Las Vegas next door. Blu Pool, a large heated outdoor pool, opens Friday through Sunday; on weekdays, Horseshoe sends guests to Pool à Paris.
Watch out for: a garage walk of about a quarter mile to the lobby, a 4 PM check-in, a $50-a-day incidental deposit and parking fees Caesars doesn’t publish. Digital wallets aren’t accepted at check-in.
7. The LINQ: Best for Groups

Best for Groups
The LINQ Hotel + Experience
- High Roller next door
- LINQ Promenade
- 21+ rooftop pool
- Monorail station
The LINQ sits at the foot of the High Roller on the LINQ Promenade, with more than 30 places to eat and drink outside the door and the Harrah’s/The LINQ Monorail station next door. Bunk-bed rooms, which Caesars markets as the Strip’s first, and the 21+ Influence rooftop pool make it a natural group base.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Rooms are compact (Deluxe rooms list at 350 square feet), the resort fee is $49.95 plus tax, and Caesars itself says The LINQ is livelier than its quiet luxury resorts. Under-21s can’t use Influence; the hotel points families to Flamingo’s all-ages pool, about five minutes away. Our LINQ hotel review has the details.
Watch out for: small rooms, noise if you’re a light sleeper, a 4 PM check-in and a fridge only on request, for a daily fee.
8. New York-New York: Best for T-Mobile Arena

Best for T-Mobile Arena
New York-New York Hotel & Casino
- Big Apple Coaster
- Arcade & Hershey's
- Next to T-Mobile Arena
- Dueling pianos
MGM puts T-Mobile Arena under five minutes from New York-New York on foot, through The Park. The $45-plus-tax resort fee includes 2-for-1 passes on The Big Apple Coaster, and Hershey’s Chocolate World, an arcade and the dueling pianos at the Bar at Times Square fill the evenings.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Soho rooms measure 350 square feet, and pedestrian bridges link to MGM Grand, with its Monorail station, and to Excalibur. Mad Apple, the Cirque du Soleil show here, closed in September 2026, so the nightlife now leans on the bars, live music at Nine Fine Irishmen and dinner at Gallagher’s Steakhouse.
Watch out for: coaster and construction noise, tiny windows, no coffee maker or fridge, $20-a-day self-parking and a garage that goes prepay-only during arena events.
9. Harrah’s Las Vegas: Best All-Ages Pool

Best All-Ages Pool
Harrah's Las Vegas
- All-ages pool
- Monorail station
- Next to LINQ Promenade
- Skybridge to CAESARS FORUM
Harrah’s has an Olympic-size, all-ages pool between its two towers, open March through October, plus the Harrah’s/The LINQ Monorail station on its second floor. Rooms were renovated property-wide in 2021, and the resort fee is $49.95 plus tax.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Harrah’s own FAQ puts Caesars Palace a 7- to 10-minute walk away and Sphere 10 to 15 minutes. A skybridge reaches CAESARS FORUM for conventions, the Fulton Street Food Hall runs 24 hours, and Donny Osmond’s residency in the Harrah’s Showroom has been extended through June 2027.
Watch out for: small Mountain Tower rooms (300 square feet; Valley Tower rooms are 340), smoke on the casino floor and parking fees Caesars doesn’t publish.
10. SAHARA Las Vegas: Best North Strip Value
Best North Strip Value
SAHARA Las Vegas
- Free self & valet parking
- Monorail station
- Vegas Loop station
- Magic Mike Live
SAHARA’s resort fee ($54.95 plus tax) is the highest on this list, but it includes free self-parking and valet, Wi-Fi, two bottles of water and in-season pool access. The Monorail’s northern terminus is inside the resort, and a Vegas Loop station opened in August 2026.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
The pool is free for hotel guests of all ages in season, Maroon by Kwame Onwuachi serves a Caribbean steakhouse menu, and Magic Mike Live (18+) plays here. Rooms in the redesigned Blanca tower measure 325 square feet. SAHARA also sells an “All-In” rate with no resort fee through July 31, 2027, which adds breakfast for two at Zeffer’s and noon checkout.
Watch out for: a 4 PM check-in, sinks outside the bathroom, few bedside outlets and air-conditioning complaints from summer 2026. The pool season runs March through September.
11. Circus Circus: Best for Kids

Best for Kids
Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park
- Adventuredome theme park
- Free circus acts
- Free parking
- Carnival Cove splash zone
Circus Circus has the Adventuredome, a five-acre indoor theme park with roller coasters, plus free circus acts on the Midway and Carnival Cove, a water-play area with five slides. Parking is free, and the resort fee is reported at $45 plus tax.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Guests like the low prices, comfortable beds and reliable Wi-Fi, and the homepage advertises a “No Resort Fee Room Special.”
Watch out for: dated, worn facilities, housekeeping that isn’t daily, no refrigerators and crowded elevators on weekends. There’s no Monorail or Loop station, and the official site doesn’t publish the resort fee, so confirm it in a live booking.
12. The STRAT: Best for Thrill-Seekers

Best for Thrill-Seekers
The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower
- STRAT Tower & SkyPod
- Thrill rides & SkyJump
- Top of the World
- Two pools
The STRAT’s 1,149-foot tower, billed as the tallest freestanding observation tower in the U.S., has indoor and outdoor decks, the Big Shot and X-Scream rides and SkyJump. The $49.95-plus-tax resort fee includes discounted tower entry, 20% off SkyJump and seasonal pool admission.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Hotel guests 21 and over use the WET24 pool, 25 stories up, free with a room key, and Top of the World revolves 800-plus feet above the Strip for a splurge dinner. Elevate rooms (340 square feet) are newly remodeled, and the Monorail’s SAHARA station is nearby.
Watch out for: paid parking for hotel guests (free only with a Nevada ID or plates), dated common areas, no spa, and the Swim & Social pool closing for the season on October 11, 2026.
How to choose a cheap hotel on the Strip
- If you’re driving, start with the free-parking hotels: Treasure Island, SAHARA, Circus Circus and Casino Royale. At MGM’s budget hotels, $20 a day for the garage can cancel out a lower rate.
- If you’re not driving, the $45 fee at Excalibur, Luxor and New York-New York is the lowest among the big resorts here, and Casino Royale charges none.
- Weigh location against price. Flamingo, The LINQ, Harrah’s and Horseshoe save you rides in the center; the south-end hotels suit stadium and arena trips; SAHARA and The STRAT are farthest from the center, though both are near the Monorail.
- Check room size. Horseshoe’s rooms and Luxor’s tower rooms are about 450 square feet and Treasure Island’s about 400; most of the others run roughly 300 to 350.
- Bring kids to the right pools. Excalibur, Circus Circus and Flamingo’s Family Pool are the picks; The LINQ’s only pool is 21+. The adult checking in must be 21 at Excalibur, Luxor, New York-New York, SAHARA and The STRAT.
When Strip rates are lowest
Weekends fill first. In 2025, Las Vegas hotels ran 88.8% full on weekends and 76.6% midweek, according to the LVCVA, so Sunday-through-Thursday stays are where cheap rooms are easiest to find. Summer is the low season for price: July, August and June 2025 had the lowest average room rates of the year, and October the highest.
Big events push demand the other way, and many fall midweek. Check your dates against F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix race weekend (November 19–21, 2026), the SEMA Show (November 3–6), AWS re:Invent (November 30–December 4), the National Finals Rodeo (December 3–12), New Year’s Eve and CES (January 6–9, 2027). Our guide to the cheapest time to visit Las Vegas has the month-by-month picture.
How to get the lowest price
- Book refundable, then recheck. Take a free-cancellation rate, on Booking.com or direct, and rebook if the price drops before your cancellation deadline. Caesars’ direct bookings, for example, can be canceled free up to 48 hours before arrival, except during special events.
- Use rewards status. MGM Rewards Pearl members and above self-park free at MGM hotels, and MGM waives the resort fee for Gold members and above at Excalibur, Luxor and New York-New York. Caesars Rewards Platinum members and above park free at Caesars hotels.
- Hunt for no-fee rates. SAHARA’s All-In rate, TI’s members-only specials and Circus Circus’ No Resort Fee Room Special all drop the resort fee.
- Leave the car at home. An online one-day Monorail pass costs $13.95 and a 24-hour Deuce bus pass $8 (RTC’s October 2025 fare), both less than a day of hotel parking at the MGM budget hotels. See our guide to Las Vegas without a car.
- Look downtown for the lowest rates. The LVCVA put downtown’s 2025 average room rate at about half the Strip’s. Compare the two in our Strip vs. downtown guide, and budget the whole trip with our Las Vegas trip cost guide.
FAQ
What is the cheapest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip?
It depends on your dates, since rates change daily. On mandatory costs, Best Western Plus Casino Royale is the cheapest here: no resort fee and free self-parking. Among the big resorts, Excalibur, Luxor and New York-New York charge the lowest resort fee on this list ($45 plus tax), and Circus Circus pairs a reported $45 fee with free parking.
Which Strip hotels are under $100 a night with fees?
That depends on your dates, so do the math before you book. With 13.38% tax, a hotel with a $45 resort fee comes in under $100 all-in only if the room rate is below about $43; at a $49.95 fee the rate has to be under about $38, and at $54.95 under about $33. At Casino Royale, with no fee, the limit is about $88. Parking comes on top.
Do cheap Strip hotels charge resort fees?
Almost all do. As of October 2026, 11 of the 12 hotels on this list charge between $45 and $54.95 a night plus tax, and the tax applies to the fee too. Best Western Plus Casino Royale is the exception.
Is Excalibur or Luxor better for the price?
They charge the same $45-plus-tax resort fee and $20 a day for self-parking, so it comes down to the room and the crowd. Excalibur has newly renovated 352-square-foot Resort Tower rooms and more for kids, including a water slide and an arcade. Luxor’s tower rooms are bigger at 449 square feet, it’s less than half a mile from Allegiant Stadium, and it has Blue Man Group and museum-style exhibitions.
Is it cheaper to stay off the Strip?
Usually, for the room itself. The LVCVA put downtown’s 2025 average room rate at about half the Strip’s, and many downtown hotels park guests free. Factor in getting back to the Strip: the Deuce bus costs $4 a ride or $8 for 24 hours at RTC’s October 2025 fares. Our downtown Las Vegas hotels guide ranks the options.
When are Las Vegas hotels cheapest?
Midweek and in summer. In 2025, hotels ran 76.6% full midweek against 88.8% on weekends, and July, August and June had the lowest average rates of the year, per the LVCVA. Avoid big-event weeks such as F1 race weekend (November 19–21, 2026) and CES (January 6–9, 2027).
Strip rates change daily, so run the real-cost math above on two or three of these hotels for your exact dates before you book.
