How We Review Las Vegas Hotels
The criteria, sources and checks behind every review and hotel list on this site.
Last updated
In short
We evaluate each hotel against the same ten criteria, verify fees and policies with official sources, and say clearly who a hotel suits and who should book somewhere else. Our reviews are based on research, not on sponsored stays.
Research, not sponsored stays
Unless an article explicitly says otherwise, our reviews are based on structured research rather than overnight stays. We think that is the most honest way to cover dozens of resorts consistently, and we will never write as if we stayed somewhere when we didn’t. We do not accept free rooms, payments or other perks in exchange for coverage.
The ten criteria we use
- Location. Where the hotel sits on the Strip or Downtown, what you can reach on foot, and which connections are nearby, such as free trams, pedestrian bridges or a Las Vegas Monorail station.
- Value. How the typical nightly rate compares with similar hotels once mandatory fees are included. We don’t publish fixed prices because rates change by date; we describe a hotel’s relative price level instead.
- Rooms. Room types and published sizes, views, renovation status and the things guests repeatedly praise or complain about.
- Amenities. Spa, fitness center, shopping, entertainment and anything that changes how a stay feels.
- Pools. Number and type of pools, adults-only areas or dayclubs, cabanas and seasonal schedules.
- Restaurants. The range of dining on site, from quick bites to destination restaurants.
- Transportation. How easy it is to get around without a car, including rideshare access and public transit.
- Parking. Whether self-parking and valet are free or paid, and how much they cost, as published by the hotel or operator.
- Resort fees. The mandatory daily fee, what it includes, and how it changes the real cost of a stay.
- Traveler profile. Who the hotel fits best (first-timers, couples, families, groups, budget travelers) and who should look elsewhere.
Where our facts come from
- Official sources first: hotel and operator websites, fee and parking disclosures, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), Harry Reid International Airport, the RTC of Southern Nevada and the Las Vegas Monorail.
- Reputable reporting from established local and travel publications for openings, closures and renovations.
- Guest feedback in aggregate: recurring themes in verified reviews on major booking platforms. We summarize patterns; we never quote or copy individual reviews or invent ratings.
How we keep information current
Fees, parking rates, pool schedules and restaurant line-ups change often in Las Vegas. Each review shows when fees and policies were last checked, and we revisit our most-read pages regularly. If something has changed, please let us know and we’ll update it.
What we don’t do
- We don’t publish star ratings, scores or prices we can’t verify.
- We don’t let hotels or booking platforms review or approve our articles.
- We don’t rank a hotel higher because it pays a higher commission.
How affiliate links fit in
Some hotel buttons link to Booking.com and may earn us a commission if you book. The same hotel appears with the same honest pros and cons whether or not a commission is possible. See our Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Policy for details.
