The best off-Strip hotels in Las Vegas trade a walkable Strip address for free parking, resort pools and, at several, a lower resort fee. Here are 12 worth booking, grouped by area, with the shuttles, fees and parking that decide whether the trade works. To compare every neighborhood first, see our guide to where to stay in Las Vegas; downtown’s Fremont Street hotels have their own ranking of downtown Las Vegas hotels.

Shuttles, fees and parking were checked on each hotel’s own pages in October 2026, with no sponsored stays; our page on how we review hotels explains the rest.

- Jan. 1, 2026: JW Marriott Las Vegas and Rampart Casino rebranded together as The Resort at Summerlin; the hotel keeps the JW Marriott name.
- August 2026: Palms opened a fully enclosed, 7,300-square-foot non-smoking gaming area.
- 2027 (under construction): Durango’s North Expansion adds bowling, movie theaters and new restaurants.
- Still on older lists: the Hard Rock Hotel closed in February 2020, and its building reopened as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in March 2021.
Who should stay off the Strip, and who shouldn’t
Stay off the Strip if you’re driving, you’ve seen the Strip before or you want pool and spa time more than a casino crawl. Stay on it if this is your first trip or you won’t have a car.
Off the Strip works if you:
- Drive in. Ten of these 12 hotels offer free self-parking. Westgate charges, and The Orleans folds parking into its resort fee.
- Want Red Rock Canyon or a spa. Book Red Rock Resort or the JW Marriott in Summerlin.
- Are here for a convention or the rodeo. Westgate sits beside the Las Vegas Convention Center, and South Point, Silverton and The Orleans are stops on the free NFR Express shuttle.
Book on the Strip instead if you:
- Won’t have a car. Except at Westgate, you’ll pay for every Strip trip; see Las Vegas without a car.
- Are on your first trip. The free sights and big-name casinos are on the Strip; our first-time Las Vegas guide covers them.
Under 21? Palms, Rio, Virgin Hotels, M Resort and Silverton say you must be 21 to check in; Westgate accepts 18.
Summerlin, Red Rock Canyon and the southwest valley
Summerlin’s resorts suit drivers who want a pool, a spa and Red Rock Canyon more than a walk to the casinos. For scale, Marriott puts the airport about 16 miles from the JW Marriott. Durango, the newest, is in the southwest valley near the 215. For a spa day without staying, our guide to the best spas in Las Vegas compares day passes on and off the Strip.
1. Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa: Best Overall

Best Overall Off-Strip Resort
Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa
- Handy for Red Rock Canyon
- Free parking
- Resort pool & cabanas
- Spa
Station Casinos’ flagship is the most complete resort off the Strip: a casino, a spa, a pool with 19 private cabanas, free parking and rooms with 65-inch TVs and a separate tub and shower. It’s also a convenient base for Red Rock Canyon, so check the canyon’s current entry requirements before you go.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
The pool runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 21+ cabanas in the Rouge Room. The $50.85 nightly resort fee, tax included (as of October 2026), covers Wi-Fi, calls, the 24-hour gym and two bottles of water per stay.
Watch out for: guests call the fee poor value when the pool is closed for the season, and some mention casino smoke, event noise and no in-room coffee maker or fridge. An airport shuttle isn’t currently advertised.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
2. JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa: Best for a Spa Stay
Best for a Spa Stay
JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa
- Spa Aquae
- Waterfall pool
- On-site casino

This Mediterranean-style JW Marriott pairs Spa Aquae with an outdoor Waterfall Pool and an on-site casino. Self-parking is free, and Marriott says valet is included in the daily resort fee.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
About the name: on January 1, 2026, JW Marriott Las Vegas and Rampart Casino rebranded together as The Resort at Summerlin. The 549-room hotel kept the JW Marriott name, and the rebrand announcement cited a $75 million renovation.
Watch out for: pool work is planned through 2026, so confirm the pool is open. The fee is reported at about $45 + tax ($50.85 with tax, as of October 2026), checkout is at noon, and the hotel runs no shuttle.
3. Durango Casino & Resort: Best New Resort
Best New Resort
Durango Casino & Resort
- Free self and valet parking
- Seasonal Bel-Aire Backyard pool
- Named Strip-view rooms
- Southwest valley location
Station Casinos’ newest resort opened in December 2023 with Strip-view rooms, the Bel-Aire Backyard pool and free self-parking and valet. Pick it if you want a newer room and don’t mind the drive.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
The resort says its North Expansion, now under construction, will add a 36-lane bowling center, movie theaters, new restaurants, Moonshine Flats and about 400 more slots in 2027, and existing amenities stay open in the meantime.
Watch out for: the $50.85 resort fee, tax included (as of October 2026), is waived only for Nevada residents, and guest reviews are still thin.
Henderson: Green Valley Ranch and M Resort
Henderson’s two resorts here are built around pools, spas and free parking, and we couldn’t confirm a Strip shuttle from either.
4. Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa & Casino: Best Resort Pool

Best Resort Pool
Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa & Casino
- Eight-acre pool backyard
- Sand-bottom pool
- Free parking
- Spa
Green Valley Ranch’s eight-acre backyard centers on a sand-bottom, beach-entry pool with cabanas and daybeds, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some areas are 21+, and the spa has its own private lap pool.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Parking is free, and guests praise the remodeled, light and airy rooms. The resort fee is $51.30 a night, tax included (as of October 2026). Families should also see our family-friendly Las Vegas hotels and the best Las Vegas hotel pools.
Watch out for: guests mention slow pool service at busy times, uneven restaurant service and a limited number of table games.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
5. M Resort Spa Casino: Best Value With an Airport Shuttle

Best Value With an Airport Shuttle
M Resort Spa Casino
- Free parking
- Airport shuttle (in fee)
- DayDream adults-only pool
- Quieter setting
M Resort’s $39.99 + tax resort fee (as of October 2026) includes an airport shuttle (reservations required), and self-parking and valet are free. The adults-only DayDream Pool Club and Spa Mio make it a relaxed south-valley base.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Hotel guests can reserve game-day transportation to Allegiant Stadium, and a second tower opened in late 2025, bringing the room count to 765, per Wikipedia. Children 18 and under stay free with a paying adult.
Watch out for: guests mention a different atmosphere on Raiders and event days, and the pool closes on some event dates. Phone and front-desk bookings add a $10 reservation fee.
West of the Strip: Palms, Rio and The Orleans
Frommer’s counts Palms and Rio among the major hotels within a mile of the Strip, and The Orleans says it’s less than two miles away. We found no published walking routes, so plan on driving or a rideshare.
6. Palms Casino Resort: Best Near the Strip

Best Near the Strip
Palms Casino Resort
- Free parking
- Remodeled resort pool
- Non-smoking slot area
- Off-Strip calm
Palms parks everyone free, self and valet, and its $43.99 + tax resort fee (as of October 2026) covers Wi-Fi, the gym, in-room coffee and a fridge. The remodeled pool area has two large pools, and the pool deck is smoke-free.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
In August 2026 Palms opened a fully enclosed, 7,300-square-foot non-smoking gaming area with 224 slots, which the Las Vegas Sun calls the second-largest smoke-free casino space in town after Park MGM. For no casino at all, our non-smoking hotels guide covers Trump International, a casino-free tower by Fashion Show mall.
Watch out for: guests reported check-in problems in August and September 2026, including rooms that weren’t ready and long waits. Expect a $100-a-night deposit, and you must be 21 to check in.
7. Rio Hotel & Casino: Best All-Suite Hotel

Best All-Suite Hotel
Rio Hotel & Casino
- Free self-parking
- Seasonal Ipanema Pool
- Off-Strip value
- Near the Palms
Rio is an all-suite hotel with free self-parking for everyone, and it’s part of Hyatt’s Destination by Hyatt collection of independent hotels. Registered guests can also park RVs and trucks free.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Its resort fee is the highest here, $52 + tax ($58.96 with taxes and fees, as of October 2026), but it bundles valet, Wi-Fi, seasonal pool access and 50% off show tickets, except The Empire Strips Back. Our Rio review compares the renovated Ipanema Tower with the older Masquerade Tower.
Watch out for: Rio says plainly that it runs no shuttle to the airport or the Strip, and it holds a $100-a-day deposit on a credit card; cash isn’t accepted.
8. The Orleans Hotel & Casino: Best for Bowling and Movies
Best for Bowling, Movies and Arena Events
The Orleans Hotel & Casino
- Orleans Arena
- Bowling & 18-screen cinema
- NFR Express shuttle stop
- Parking included in resort fee
Boyd Gaming’s 1,886-room resort has a bowling center, an 18-screen movie theater and the Orleans Arena. Self-parking and valet are included in its $46.32 resort fee, quoted with tax (as of October 2026).
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
The seasonal pool has cabanas and daybeds, and during the rodeo the free NFR Express shuttle stops at the valet entrance.
Watch out for: parking is prepaid through the resort fee rather than free, and we couldn’t confirm an airport shuttle.
East of the Strip: Paradise Road
Paradise Road is convention and airport territory, with Westgate beside the Las Vegas Convention Center and Virgin Hotels close to the airport.
9. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas: Best Upscale Pick Near the Airport

Best Upscale Pick Near the Airport
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas
- Free self & valet parking
- Hilton Curio Collection

- Concert venue
Virgin Hotels, part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, parks guests free, self and valet. Its pool has cabanas and poolside dining, the restaurants include Nobu and ONE Steakhouse, and The Theater at Virgin Hotels hosts concerts.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
The resort fee is reported at about $50 + tax (as of October 2026); Virgin’s FAQ lists what it covers, such as wellness classes, 15% off spa services and Wi-Fi, but not the amount. Hilton Honors members, note that Hilton’s terms give no points for third-party bookings, and award stays paid fully in points skip the resort fee.
Watch out for: there’s no shuttle dedicated to the hotel, and guests must be 21 to check in.
10. Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino: Best Without a Car

Best Without a Car
Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino
- Next to Convention Center
- Monorail station
- Westgate SuperBook
- Barry Manilow
Westgate is the only resort here with a free shuttle to the Strip and downtown that we could confirm, plus its own Monorail station. The hotel lists the Strip as a 3-minute drive and the Las Vegas Convention Center as a 7-minute walk.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
A Vegas Loop station at the porte-cochère links the convention center and Resorts World; see our guide to hotels near the Las Vegas Convention Center. Check the shuttle schedule on Westgate’s transportation page.
Watch out for: self-parking costs extra (the hotel says the rate varies), the resort fee is $49.99 + tax (as of October 2026), and guests mention a dated property, slow check-in and timeshare sales pitches. A limited-time “No Resort Fees” package waives the fee and adds free valet.
South of the Strip: South Point and Silverton
Both sit south of the Strip, run airport shuttles for hotel guests and park you free.

11. South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa: Lowest Resort Fee
Lowest Resort Fee on Our List
South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa
- Airport shuttle (in resort fee)
- Free parking
- 64-lane bowling center
- Arena & NFR-week events
South Point charges $33 per room per night (as of October 2026), the lowest resort fee here, and it covers Wi-Fi, the gym, a coffee maker and a scheduled airport shuttle. Parking is always free, valet included.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
The 2,100-room resort adds a 64-lane bowling center, a movie theater and a 4,600-seat equestrian arena, and it’s the hub for National Finals Rodeo events; see NFR hotels in Las Vegas. The hotel says the airport is typically 10 to 15 minutes away, depending on traffic.
Watch out for: book the shuttle by phone with your flight details; same-day reservations aren’t accepted. The spa was closed for renovation at last check in October 2026; the hotel says it will reopen “this fall” but posts no date.
12. Silverton Casino Lodge: Best Free Airport Shuttle
Best Free Airport Shuttle

- Free parking
- 117,000-gallon aquarium
- Swimmin' Hole pool deck

Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
Shuttle seats are limited and reservations are required. During the rodeo, Silverton is an NFR Express stop with free nightly viewing parties.
Watch out for: the resort fee isn’t on the hotel’s own pages; Las Vegas Advisor reports about $41 a night (at last check in October 2026). All registered guests must be 21.
Non-gaming hotels just off the Strip
If you want off-Strip calm without the drive, a few casino-free hotels sit within a block or so of the boulevard. The Westin, one block off the Strip on Flamingo Road, has been non-gaming since its casino closed in July 2017 and is reported smoke-free; its resort fee was reported at $35 + tax in June 2025. Trump International, beside Fashion Show mall, charges $39 + tax per day (as of October 2026) with complimentary valet, and Ahern Hotel, off West Sahara Avenue, says it charges no resort fee or parking fee. Near the Convention Center, the smoke-free Renaissance has a reported $30 + tax destination fee (at last check in October 2026). The Platinum Hotel, an all-suite, non-gaming hotel one block from the Strip on East Flamingo Road, lists full kitchens and complimentary garage parking on its official site but isn’t in our booking cards.

The Westin Las Vegas Hotel & Spa
- Non-gaming & smoke-free

- Heated outdoor pool
Non-gaming, smoke-free Westin one block off the Strip on Flamingo Road, a short walk from CAESARS FORUM and the Flamingo/Caesars Palace Monorail station.

North of the city, Boyd’s Cannery and Aliante are the closest casino hotels to Las Vegas Motor Speedway; see hotels near Las Vegas Motor Speedway for race and festival weekends.
Getting to the Strip: shuttles, drive times and rideshares
Here’s what each hotel publishes. “None found” means no official shuttle or figure; we don’t estimate.

|---|---|---|
| Red Rock Resort | No airport shuttle currently advertised | None found |
| JW Marriott | None, per Marriott | Airport about 16 miles (Marriott) |
| Durango | None found | None found |

| M Resort | Airport shuttle in resort fee; Allegiant Stadium game-day rides | None found |
| Palms | None found | Within a mile of the Strip (Frommer’s) |

| South Point | Airport shuttle in resort fee; NFR Express | Airport typically 10 to 15 minutes (hotel) |

Rideshare prices change with demand, and we found no reliable published fares, so price a round trip in your app and weigh it against Strip parking: most MGM and Caesars resorts charge hotel guests $20 a day (as of October 2026).

Resort fees off the Strip: what you actually save
Resort fees on this list run from $33 a night at South Point to $52 + tax at Rio (as of October 2026); for comparison, MGM’s own terms put Excalibur at $45 + tax and ARIA at $55 + tax. Compare totals: Red Rock’s $50.85 already includes tax, while Palms’ $43.99 + tax comes to $49.88 with tax, per ResortFeeChecker.
Since May 12, 2025, the FTC has required hotels and booking sites to show the full price, mandatory fees included, up front. Station Casinos itemizes its fees on its fee-inclusions page, and our Las Vegas resort fees guide covers the rest.
No resort fee? Read the fine print
None of these 12 resorts is fee-free; Las Vegas Advisor listed Element Las Vegas Summerlin with no resort fee in June 2025, if you want a fee-free Summerlin base. Durango waives its fee only for Nevada residents, Westgate’s no-fee package is a limited-time offer, and South Point and The Orleans charge one despite some online lists. Station Casinos’ smaller hotels (Palace Station, Sunset Station, Boulder Station and Santa Fe Station) charge a “Hotel Services Fee” instead: $45.34, $45.59, $33.89 and $33.89 with tax (as of October 2026). For truly fee-free stays, see Las Vegas hotels without resort fees.
FAQ
Is there a free shuttle from off-Strip hotels to the Strip?
Of the hotels here, only Westgate confirms one: a free shuttle to the Strip and downtown on a published schedule, plus its own Monorail station. Rio and the JW Marriott say they offer no shuttle. On the Strip itself, the free rides we can confirm are two short trams, one linking Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur and the ARIA Express linking Park MGM, ARIA and Bellagio.
Does Virgin Hotels Las Vegas have an airport shuttle?
No. Virgin’s FAQ says there’s no shuttle service dedicated to the hotel, which calls the airport a quick five-minute ride. A taxi from the airport is a Zone 1 flat fare: $22.25 before card fees and tax, at last check in October 2026. For a hotel airport shuttle, look at South Point, Silverton or M Resort.
How far is Henderson from the Las Vegas Strip?
Far enough that you’ll drive. Henderson is a separate city south and southeast of the Strip, and M Resort sits on South Las Vegas Boulevard, the same road as the Strip. We found no official drive times or Strip shuttles for Green Valley Ranch or M Resort, so check your map app.
Is it safe to stay off the Strip in Las Vegas?
Staying off the Strip mostly changes how you get around at night, not the kind of hotel you sleep in: every resort here is a full-service casino resort. You can’t hail a taxi on the street, so use the hotel’s taxi line or rideshare pickup and line up your ride back before a late night. M Resort guests specifically mention that it feels safe.
Which off-Strip hotels are the cheapest?
The mid-range picks here are M Resort, Rio, The Orleans, Westgate, South Point and Silverton. South Point ($33), M Resort ($39.99 + tax) and Silverton (about $41, reported) also charge the lowest resort fees (as of October 2026) and run airport shuttles.
Book off the Strip for the free parking, the pool and a resort-style base; book on it if you want to walk to everything.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
