Las Vegas early check-in is possible at most hotels, but only a handful put a price on it, and almost none guarantee it. Here are the times, fees and bag rules at 46 hotels as of October 2026, plus the loyalty tiers that get it free.

Quick answer

Most Las Vegas hotels check in at 3 p.m. (MGM, The Venetian, Wynn) or 4 p.m. (Caesars) and check out at 11 a.m. Getting in earlier depends on a room being ready, and many hotels charge for it. Where hotels publish a price, it starts at $30 to $50, usually plus tax (as of October 2026). Bell desks hold your bags meanwhile.

What time is check-in at Las Vegas hotels?

Check-in is 3 p.m. at all 13 MGM Resorts hotels, The Venetian and The Palazzo, Wynn and Encore, Fontainebleau, Treasure Island, The STRAT, Circa and Downtown Grand. It’s 4 p.m. at all nine Caesars Entertainment hotels, SAHARA, Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria, Rio, Plaza and Golden Nugget.

Checkout is 11 a.m. almost everywhere; Wynn, Encore, Four Seasons, Four Queens and Hotel Apache at Binion’s use noon. Traveling with someone under 21? Check our guide to the Las Vegas hotel check-in age.

How early can you check in at a Vegas hotel?

As soon as a room is ready, or at a set time you pay for. The earliest published windows open at 7 a.m. at Horseshoe and Trump International (both for a fee) and 9 a.m. at Wynn and Encore if a room is ready. Three different things get called early check-in:

  • A request. Most hotels will consider it if a room is ready, sometimes for a fee. MGM’s FAQs: “Early check-in and late check-out requests are subject to room availability and hotel occupancy. Additional fees may apply.”
  • A paid add-on. Treasure Island, Plaza, Downtown Grand, Golden Nugget, Paris, Planet Hollywood and Trump International publish a price. Most others say only that a fee may apply.
  • An extra night. Booking the night before is the only way Four Seasons says you can guarantee a room on an early arrival, and The Signature at MGM Grand says an extra night guarantees access until you leave.

From each hotel’s FAQ or terms and Caesars’ property data, read Oct. 5–13, 2026. Every request depends on availability unless noted, and “not published” means a fee may apply but no amount is listed.

Does MGM offer guaranteed early check-in?

Not as a published product. All 13 MGM FAQs use the same “subject to room availability” line, and none lists a price. Bellagio is the one MGM resort that lets you pick “Early Check-in” (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) or “Late Checkout” (to 3 p.m.) while booking, and even that early option is “fulfilled based on availability.” Our Bellagio review has the rest of its fine print.

One wrinkle for MGM Rewards members: on a third-party booking, you earn points only on the resort fee and add-ons such as early check-in and late checkout, not on the room rate.

The clearest guarantee on the Strip comes from Wynn and Encore: “It is possible to guarantee an early arrival of 11 a.m. for Resort guests for an additional charge.” Wynn doesn’t publish the charge, so ask when you call.

Late checkout in Las Vegas: how late, and how much

Usually to 3 or 4 p.m., sold on the day if rooms allow. Treasure Island (from $40 + tax), Bellagio and Excalibur go to 3 p.m.; Horseshoe and The Vanderpump Hotel to 4 p.m. Past that, you’re paying for a room: Vanderpump charges the full day rate after 4 p.m., and Fontainebleau bills a half or full day based on that day’s room rate.

If you need the room into the evening, price an extra night. It’s the only late checkout that The Signature and Four Seasons guarantee, and Palms guarantees it only if you prepay when booking.

Loyalty perks: free early check-in and late checkout

Caesars Rewards. Diamond, Diamond Plus, Diamond Elite and Seven Stars members get “Complimentary early check-in / late check-out based on availability,” with possible restrictions and blackout dates, per Caesars’ benefits overview. Gold and Platinum don’t. Diamond starts at 15,000 Tier Credits.

MGM Rewards. MGM’s tier page lists a priority check-in line but no early check-in or late checkout benefit at any tier (checked Oct. 9, 2026).

Marriott Bonvoy at MGM hotels. On stays booked through Marriott, MGM Collection terms give late checkout up to 2 p.m. to Platinum and Titanium Elite members and up to 4 p.m. to Ambassador Elite, based on availability, and let Ambassador Elite request a 1 p.m. early check-in with 24 hours’ notice. Marriott’s MGM Collection page features Bellagio, ARIA, The Cosmopolitan, W Las Vegas, MGM Grand and The Reserve at Park MGM, among others.

Linking accounts won’t get most MGM members there: MGM Gold and Platinum map to Bonvoy Gold Elite, and only NOIR maps to Ambassador Elite. See Las Vegas hotels by owner for which program covers which resort, and the best way to book Las Vegas hotels for why perks usually require booking direct.

How to ask for early check-in or late checkout

  1. Ask when you book. Bellagio, Fontainebleau and Palms offer early or late options while booking. Treasure Island sells early check-in through Room Reservations or at its Express/Early Check-In line (suites only on arrival day).
  2. Check in on your phone. MGM (via its app), Caesars (Express Check-In in the Caesars Rewards app) and Resorts World (Digital Check-In) all offer it. On travel-site bookings, Caesars Palace, Flamingo and Horseshoe allow Express Check-In only if your Rewards number was added at booking; Paris excludes them.
  3. Ask on the day. Four Queens and Hotel Apache confirm only on the day, Paris, Horseshoe and The LINQ take requests through Citywide Guest Services, and Rio, Mandalay Bay and W handle late checkout on departure day.
  4. Get the price first, and ask whether tax is extra. Our guide to Las Vegas hotel deposits explains the separate hold taken at check-in.

Treasure Island is the easiest hotel to plan around: it publishes both prices and both cut-off times, and its self check-in kiosks run 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Our Treasure Island review covers the rest.

Check Availability at Treasure Island

Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.

Is it cheaper to book the night before?

Not if you land mid-morning. An extra night costs the room rate plus that night’s resort fee and tax. At Treasure Island, the $49.95 + tax resort fee alone is more than early check-in, which starts at $40 + tax (as of October 2026). At Bellagio, the $55 resort fee comes to $62.36 with the 13.38% room tax ($55 + $7.36), before the room itself.

The extra night earns its cost if you land before 7 a.m., when the earliest paid windows open, or need a guaranteed bed after a red-eye. Our resort fees guide lists every hotel’s nightly fee.

Luggage storage and bag check at Las Vegas hotels

Hotels with a published policy hold bags at the bell desk while you wait for your room, and most keep them after checkout too. At MGM hotels, if your room isn’t ready before 3 p.m., you can “store your luggage at the Bell Desk free of charge.” Paris, Horseshoe and Harrah’s also store bags free, and The Venetian and The Palazzo do it 24/7 at Guest Services near the main entrances. The limits are in the details:

  • Treasure Island: “There is no fee to store standard luggage up to a few hours”; fees may apply for oversized items or longer storage.
  • Excalibur: until 11:58 p.m. on your checkout date. Harrah’s: same day only, with claim ticket and photo ID.
  • Caesars Palace: registered guests, subject to availability; no Bell Desk luggage service from roughly 3 to 5 a.m.
  • Luxor: Bell Desk open 8 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 6 a.m.–midnight Friday to Sunday.

Most other Caesars hotels, SAHARA, Plaza, Trump International and Four Seasons offer storage without stating a fee. Wynn, Resorts World, Fontainebleau, The STRAT, Circa, Golden Nugget, Rio, Palms and most downtown hotels publish no storage policy, so ask the bell desk.

Don’t count on the airport: Harry Reid International doesn’t list a luggage storage service on its site, so take bags to your hotel first; our Las Vegas airport to Strip guide compares the rides. Treasure Island notes that “gratuities are customary” at the Bell Desk; see our guide to tipping in Las Vegas.

Can you book a day-use room in Las Vegas?

Not from the hotels we checked: as of October 2026, no Strip or downtown hotel’s own site offered a day-use rate. The alternatives are a paid early check-in or late checkout, an extra night, or a workaround: Trump International lets guests waiting for rooms use the pool and sells a $25 spa locker-room day pass, and Four Seasons lets departing guests freshen up in its fitness facilities. Once you’re in, our guide to Las Vegas hotel room amenities covers what the room will have.

FAQ

What time is checkout at Las Vegas hotels?

11 a.m. at most hotels, including every MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment hotel, The Venetian and Treasure Island. Wynn, Encore, Four Seasons, Four Queens and Hotel Apache use noon. Late checkout is usually sold on the day, based on availability.

Does MGM Grand allow early check-in?

Yes, if a room is available. MGM Grand’s FAQ says early check-in and late checkout “are subject to room availability and hotel occupancy. Additional fees may apply,” with no price published. If your room isn’t ready, the Bell Desk stores luggage free. Our MGM Grand review covers the rest.

How much is the early check-in fee at Caesars Palace?

Caesars Palace doesn’t publish one; its FAQ says early check-in “may be available depending on availability and occupancy.” Caesars lists prices for only two hotels: Paris at $50 + tax and Planet Hollywood from $30 + tax (as of October 2026). Diamond members and above get it free when available.

Does Caesars Diamond get free early check-in or late checkout?

Yes, when available. Caesars’ benefits overview lists “Complimentary early check-in / late check-out based on availability” for Diamond, Diamond Plus, Diamond Elite and Seven Stars, with possible restrictions and blackout dates. Gold and Platinum members don’t get it.

How much is late checkout in Las Vegas?

Usually unpublished. Treasure Island charges from $40 + tax to stay until 3 p.m., SAHARA values a noon checkout at $25 in its All-In rate, and Fontainebleau and The Vanderpump Hotel (after 4 p.m.) bill part or all of a day’s room rate, as of October 2026.

Plan your arrival day as if the room won’t be ready until check-in time; anything earlier is a bonus. For the rest of the planning, start with our first time in Las Vegas guide.
