Bellagio vs Venetian is a choice between two kinds of luxury trip: Bellagio sells the classic Las Vegas setting, with the fountains, the Conservatory and “O” under one roof, while the Venetian sells space, with a suite as its standard room and an indoor bridge to Sphere. Both charge the same $55-plus-tax resort fee (as of October 2026), so the right pick depends on your trip; our Bellagio review and Venetian Las Vegas review cover each hotel in full.
Quick answer
- Best overall: Bellagio, for the classic Las Vegas stay: the fountains, the free Conservatory and “O” are on site, with a free tram to ARIA.
- Best for bigger rooms: The Venetian. Every standard room is a suite of 650 square feet or more.
- Best for couples: Bellagio, in a room category that names the fountain view, with dinner on Carbone Riviera’s lakeside terraces.
- Best for families: The Venetian, for its 750-square-foot two-queen suite, gondola rides and a magic show for ages 4 and up.
- Best for Sphere shows: The Venetian, which bills itself as the only hotel directly connected to the venue.
- Best for a spa day this fall: The Venetian. Canyon Ranch is open; Spa Bellagio is closed for a full remodel.
- Same fixed extras: about $82.36 a night with a car at either, for the $55 resort fee plus tax and $20 self-parking (as of October 2026).

What changed in 2026
- March 2026: Spa Bellagio closed for a full remodel; on Oct. 9 its official page still posted no reopening date, and Bellagio’s fitness center had moved temporarily to the Promenade Shops.
- MICHELIN Guide 2026: Michael Mina at Bellagio was selected.
- Aug. 23, 2026: Le Cirque at Bellagio served its last dinner; a new concept is expected in mid-2027.
- 2026: upgrades to The Palazzo’s suites begin, after the Venetian tower’s 2024-25 suite redesign.
We compared the two from Bellagio’s, the Venetian’s and MGM’s official pages and terms, checked in October 2026, and we don’t accept free stays; how we review hotels explains the method.
Location: the fountains or the Sphere bridge
Bellagio sits at 3600 S Las Vegas Blvd in the center of the Strip, with its 8.5-acre lake and the fountains out front. An interior walkway links it to Vdara and the Cosmopolitan next door, and the free ARIA Express tram (daily, 8 a.m. to midnight, per ARIA) runs from Bellagio’s station to the ARIA Campus, the former CityCenter, with ARIA and The Shops at Crystals, and on to Park MGM.

The Venetian sits farther north at 3355 Las Vegas Blvd South, with its sister tower, The Palazzo, next door. Its big advantage is a direct, indoor, climate-controlled bridge through The Venetian Expo to Sphere. Visit Las Vegas, the LVCVA’s visitor site, says to allow roughly 15 minutes from the Venetian entry, longer when crowds exit together. Pedestrian bridges also link The Palazzo to Wynn and the resort to Treasure Island (TI). Our hotels near the Sphere guide compares the other routes, and our guide to hotels near The Venetian Expo covers trade-show stays.
Nothing connects the two hotels indoors or by rail: the tram runs south from Bellagio, and neither hotel has a Monorail station. We found no published walking time between them, so map the route before you plan to walk it in summer; our guide to walking the Las Vegas Strip covers the bridges and the heat.
Grand Prix week
Both hotels sit on the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit, which races Nov. 19–21, 2026: the 1.2-mile Strip straight runs from Turn 12, at the Venetian, past the Fountains of Bellagio. Race week runs from Nov. 16 to the morning of Nov. 23, with the circuit’s streets fully closed during track sessions. Read our Grand Prix hotels guide before booking those dates.
Rooms: an all-suite resort vs two classic towers
| Feature | Bellagio | The Venetian |
|---|---|---|
| Rooms | 3,933 in two towers | About 7,100 suites across The Venetian and The Palazzo |
| Standard king | Premier King: 510 sq ft (Resort Tower King: 626) | Luxury King Suite: 650 sq ft |
| Two-queen room | Premier or Spa Premier Two Queen: 510 sq ft | Luxury Two Queen Suite: 750 sq ft |
| Two-queen suite | Bellagio Two Queen Suite: about 1,020 sq ft | Premium Two Queen Suite: 1,100 sq ft |
| Larger suite | Penthouse Suite: about 1,528 sq ft | Grand King Suite: 1,500 sq ft |
| Latest room work | Main tower 2021; Spa Tower 2023 | Venetian-tower suites redesigned 2024–25; Palazzo upgrades begin in 2026 |
Bellagio’s standard-room sizes come from its official room pages; its suite sizes are booking-site figures. The Venetian’s are the resort’s own.
Every standard room at the Venetian is a suite. The remodeled 650-square-foot Luxury King Suite has a sunken living room with a sleeper sofa and a marble bath with a Roman tub and separate shower, and the resort bills the 750-square-foot Luxury Two Queen Suite as the largest standard suite on the Strip. The Palazzo’s 720-square-foot kings are bigger but older. You must be 21 to book, and reviewers regularly note there’s no in-room coffee maker.

Bellagio splits its rooms between the 36-story main tower (3,005 rooms, redone in 2021) and the 33-story Spa Tower (928 rooms), remodeled in 2023 for $110 million. Only the Spa Premier rooms and the 626-square-foot Resort Tower King list a soaking tub. Guests praise spacious rooms and comfortable beds but mention dated rooms, thin walls and uneven housekeeping; Venetian guests report inconsistent housekeeping too.
Fountain view or Sphere view?
Not every Bellagio room faces the lake, a common guest complaint, so book a category that names the fountain view instead of asking at check-in. The Venetian markets Sphere-view suites in both towers but doesn’t guarantee the view; The Palazzo’s 940-square-foot Premium King Suite does guarantee a Strip or pool view.
Pools
Bellagio’s Mediterranean-style courtyard has five pools, cabanas, COMO Poolside Cafe & Bar and the Cypress Pool, a reservation-only retreat for guests 18 and over. On Oct. 9, 2026, Bellagio’s pool page listed the pools and jetted hot tub open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with select access from 8 a.m.; it hadn’t published a winter 2026–27 schedule. Guests under 16 need a parent or guardian.
The Venetian has two guest-only decks: the two-acre Venetian Pool Deck, with standard and plunge-pool cabanas, and the Palazzo Pool Deck, with seasonally heated water. Both post 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. hours, the quieter Pool Garden stays open until 10 p.m., and the resort says its decks run year-round, weather permitting. TAO Beach Dayclub is the strictly 21+ party, running in season with events listed into October 2026.
Verdict: Bellagio for a classic summer pool day; the Venetian from October through March.
Spa and fitness
Spa Bellagio, a 55,000-square-foot spa, has been closed for a full remodel since March 2026, and its official page posted no reopening date on Oct. 9, 2026 (trade reports have pointed to November). Meanwhile, the salon stays open, select treatments run on the Spa Tower’s fourth floor and in-room, and there are no jacuzzis, steam rooms or saunas, so check Bellagio’s official site before planning around it. The Venetian’s Canyon Ranch is open and far larger, at 134,000 square feet, with Aquavana thermal experiences and a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star rating.
Dining
Bellagio wins the table with a view. Carbone Riviera, Major Food Group’s coastal Italian, opened Nov. 7, 2025, in the former Picasso space, with lakeside terraces over the fountains, and Prime Steakhouse and The Mayfair Supper Club, which pairs dinner with live entertainment, also face the water. Michael Mina is rated Four-Star by Forbes Travel Guide and was selected by the MICHELIN Guide in 2026. Ignore any older tip for Le Cirque: it served its last dinner on Aug. 23, 2026.
The Venetian wins on depth and new arrivals. COTE Korean Steakhouse arrived in October 2025 with a 17,000-square-foot room and bills itself as America’s first and only Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse, and Bazaar Meat by José Andrés moved over from SAHARA in September 2025. CUT by Wolfgang Puck is Forbes Four-Star, Bouchon and Mott 32 are Forbes Recommended, and WAKUDA, HaSalon and estiatorio Milos add range. Guests at both flag high food and drink prices.
Casino
Bellagio’s 156,000-square-foot casino has a poker room with the high-limit Legends Room, formerly Bobby’s Room. The Venetian Resort runs two casino floors, one per tower, with a poker room, the Palazzo High-Limit Lounge and a sportsbook. Neither is smoke-free: smoking is allowed on both casino floors, and Bellagio guests often mention smoke drifting into common areas.
Entertainment and nightlife
Bellagio’s big draws are free or in-house: the fountains, the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens with five seasonal displays a year, Dale Chihuly’s glass ceiling in the lobby, and “O” by Cirque du Soleil, in its 1,800-seat theater since 1998. The official page lists a 90-minute show and a minimum age of 5.

The Venetian has the busier calendar. Sphere is over the bridge, with The Wizard of Oz at Sphere playing daily and Eagles and Metallica residencies running into 2027. On property, Shin Lim: LIMITLESS plays The Palazzo Theatre for ages 4 and up, Spiegelworld’s 18+ Atomic Saloon Show runs in the Grand Canal Shoppes, and The Venetian Theatre hosts Earth, Wind & Fire (Oct. 16–31, 2026) and the touring Book of Mormon (Nov. 4–15, 2026). Gondola rides cost $39 per person on a shared boat or $156 for a private ride (as of October 2026).
Resort fees and parking
| Charge (as of October 2026) | Bellagio | The Venetian |
|---|---|---|
| Resort fee | $55 + tax per night | $55 + tax per night |
| Resort fee with 13.38% tax | About $62.36 | About $62.36 |
| Self-parking, hotel guests | $20 per day | $20 per day |
| Valet | $40 per day | $40 per day |
| Free self-parking | MGM Rewards Pearl and above | Venetian Rewards Sapphire and above |
The fixed extras are identical. $55 plus 13.38% tax is about $62.36 a night, and $20 for self-parking brings that to about $82.36 a night with a car ($62.36 + $20), before the room rate and its tax.
Going by the Venetian’s official list and the one last reported for MGM’s Las Vegas resorts, both fees cover Wi-Fi, phone calls, boarding-pass printing, PressReader and gym access. Bellagio’s also includes Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, and the Venetian’s gym access, for two, is at Canyon Ranch. Our guide to Las Vegas resort fees explains how these charges work.
Parking differs at the edges. The Venetian says event rates may apply during big events, including Sphere headliner shows, and its three free hours for Nevada residents don’t apply then; Bellagio suspends the same perk during special events. Both hold $150 a night on your card: Bellagio under MGM’s reservation terms and the Venetian under its own terms, though the Venetian’s suites FAQ describes the hold per reservation. Our Las Vegas parking fees breakdown covers the rest of the Strip.
Price positioning
Neither hotel is reliably cheaper. Both are luxury resorts with identical resort fees and guest parking, and rates vary by day of the week, events and season, so price the same nights at both.
The difference is what the base rate buys. At the Venetian, it’s a suite of 650 square feet or more; at Bellagio, a two-queen room listed at about 510 square feet, with the fountain view sold as a separate category. The Venetian charges $50 a night for each extra guest 13 or older, which matters for friends sharing a suite. Points can settle it. World of Hyatt members have earned and redeemed at the Venetian since January 2025; Bellagio is an MGM Rewards resort, and Marriott also sells it as Bellagio, a Luxury Collection Resort & Casino. Our luxury hotels in Las Vegas guide puts both against the rest of the field.
Which is better for couples?
Bellagio, for most couples. Book a category that names the fountain view, dine on Carbone Riviera’s lakeside terraces and, in season, spend an afternoon at the 18+ Cypress Pool. The catch this fall: until Spa Bellagio reopens, a couples’ spa day means going elsewhere. Couples who want space and a spa should book the Venetian, with sunken living rooms, Roman tubs, Canyon Ranch and private gondola rides. Our romantic hotels in Las Vegas guide lists the room types worth booking.
Which is better for families?
The Venetian. A family of four has far more room in the 750-square-foot Luxury Two Queen Suite than in a Bellagio two-queen room listed at about 510 square feet, and kids get gondola rides, Madame Tussauds, Shin Lim’s magic show and year-round pool decks with no adults-only area listed. The fine print: an adult 21 or older must book, extra guests 13 and older cost $50 a night, TAO Beach is strictly 21+, and every Sphere guest needs a ticket, whatever their age.
Bellagio still works for a family visit: the Conservatory and the fountains are free, and “O” admits ages 5 and up. For more options, see our family hotels in Las Vegas.
Which is better for nightlife?
For concerts and shows, choose the Venetian: Sphere is over the bridge, the Atomic Saloon Show, Voltaire’s rotating residencies and The Venetian Theatre are on property, and TAO Beach Dayclub runs in season, with events listed into October 2026. For a dressed-up evening, choose Bellagio, with dinner over the fountains, “O” and The Mayfair Supper Club. For dancing, Bellagio wins on location, since Marquee Nightclub and The Chandelier bar are next door at the Cosmopolitan; our Bellagio vs Cosmopolitan comparison covers that pairing.
Which is better for first-time visitors?
Bellagio. It’s the Las Vegas most people picture, with the fountains out front and the Conservatory and Chihuly ceiling by the lobby, and the free tram and the walkway to the Cosmopolitan widen your range. The Venetian, with its canals and gondolas, is the better first base if a Sphere show is the reason for the trip. Expect long walks at either; guests mention them at both.
What about The Palazzo or Wynn?
Bellagio vs Venetian vs Palazzo
The Palazzo is the Venetian Resort’s second hotel, with its own lobby and pool deck but the same fee, restaurants, spa and Sphere bridge. Its 720-square-foot Luxury King Suite beats the Venetian tower’s 650 square feet, but it isn’t described as remodeled, and upgrades only begin in 2026, so it’s extra space versus newer decor.
Bellagio vs Venetian vs Wynn
Wynn is one pedestrian bridge from The Palazzo. Its 640-square-foot standard rooms sit between the other two in size, registered guests self-park free, and The Spa at Wynn and the Wynn Tower Suites hold Forbes Five-Star ratings, which matters while Spa Bellagio is closed. Its resort fee is the same $55 plus tax (as of October 2026), now stated in Wynn’s own stay terms. Our Bellagio vs Wynn and Venetian vs Wynn comparisons cover each pairing.
Which should you book?
Choose Bellagio if:
- You want the classic Las Vegas setting, with the fountains, the Conservatory and “O” on the property.
- You’re a couple willing to book a fountain-view room category.
- You want the free tram to the ARIA Campus and Park MGM, with the Cosmopolitan next door.
- You collect MGM Rewards or Marriott Bonvoy points.
Choose the Venetian if:
- You want more space: every standard room is a suite, from 650 square feet.
- You have Sphere tickets or a convention at The Venetian Expo.
- You’re traveling with kids or a group sharing one room.
- You want a spa day this fall, or you collect World of Hyatt points.
For most first-timers and couples, Bellagio is the better buy, because the setting is the point of the trip; for families, groups and Sphere ticket holders, book the Venetian. Prices vary according to travel dates and availability, and our best hotels in Las Vegas ranking shows where both land.

FAQ
Which is better, Bellagio or the Venetian?
Bellagio is better for a classic, romantic or first trip, with the fountains, the Conservatory and “O” on site and a free tram to the ARIA Campus. The Venetian is better for space, families and Sphere shows, since every standard room is a suite and an indoor bridge leads to the venue. Guests describe Bellagio’s atmosphere as elegant; reviewers call the Venetian’s remodeled suites gorgeous.
Is Bellagio or the Venetian more expensive?
Neither is consistently more expensive. Both are luxury resorts, both charge a resort fee of $55 plus tax (about $62.36 with tax) and both charge hotel guests $20 a day to self-park (as of October 2026). Room rates vary by day of the week, events and season, so compare the same dates at both.
Can you walk from the Venetian to Bellagio?
Yes, both front Las Vegas Boulevard, but they aren’t connected indoors. Bellagio’s free ARIA Express runs south to the ARIA Campus and Park MGM, not toward the Venetian, and the Monorail doesn’t stop at either hotel. We found no published walking time for the route, so check a map first, especially in summer heat; our guide to walking the Las Vegas Strip has tips.
Is Bellagio or the Venetian better with kids?
The Venetian is the easier family pick. The 750-square-foot Luxury Two Queen Suite gives a family room to spread out, and gondola rides, Madame Tussauds and Shin Lim’s magic show for ages 4 and up are on site. An adult 21 or older must book, and extra guests 13 and older cost $50 a night. Bellagio’s free Conservatory and fountains make easy outings with kids.
Which has the better pool, Bellagio or the Venetian?
It depends on the season. In summer, Bellagio’s five-pool courtyard and 18+ Cypress Pool make the more classic resort day. From October through March, the Venetian has the edge: it says its guest-only decks run year-round, weather permitting, with seasonally heated water at The Palazzo, while Bellagio typically reduces pool availability in winter.
