Quick answer

South Point fits travelers who want large standard rooms, free parking and activities inside a south-valley casino resort. It is especially relevant for South Point Arena or bowling visits. Its scheduled airport shuttle needs advance planning, and the official site still carries a spa-renovation notice. It is not a central Strip walking base.

This South Point Las Vegas review uses official room, transport and facility information checked in October 2026. It is research-based; it does not claim a personal stay, a noise measurement or inspection of a specific room.

Space and on-site activities south of the Strip

Choose South Point when its arena, bowling or south-valley location is part of your trip. Compare a central resort if you expect to walk between Strip attractions repeatedly. Reserve around the facilities operating on your dates, rather than treating every amenity in the hotel’s name as currently available.

Location: useful for the arena, different for Strip sightseeing

South Point is at 9777 South Las Vegas Boulevard, south of the main Strip resort cluster. A Las Vegas Boulevard address does not mean the hotel is within the same pedestrian circuit as Bellagio, Caesars Palace or The Venetian.

For an equestrian or other on-site event, start with our South Point Arena lodging guide. Sleeping at the host property removes an additional hotel-to-venue journey, although you still need to locate the correct entrance, meeting point and event registration area.

For a general vacation, count the journeys to your booked activities. A single Strip outing can fit a resort-based stay differently from several return trips each day. The South Strip area guide helps distinguish hotels in the boulevard resort cluster from properties farther south.

Premium King and Two Queen rooms

The official guest-room page describes 500-square-foot Premium King and Premium Two Queen rooms. It lists a mini refrigerator and coffee maker. These are useful everyday amenities, but they do not establish a kitchen or a separate bedroom.

The published sleeping arrangements matter: the King category accommodates a third person using a charged rollaway, while the Two Queen category sleeps four. Enter the actual party in the booking and verify bedding before treating room size as permission to add another guest.

RequirementRoom detail to compare
Two independent bedsA confirmed Two Queen category
An extra sleeper in a KingRollaway permission, availability and charge
Light breakfast in the roomFridge and coffee equipment; no kitchen assumed
A private bedroomA specifically described suite layout

For shared parties, compare our room-type guide. A large open room may work well for two people without providing the separation that unrelated adults or different bedtimes require.

Suites are a separate decision

South Point’s suite descriptions distinguish Professional, Junior, specialty and Luxury categories. Some require telephone booking. Square footage, maximum occupancy and bedroom count differ; the largest-sounding name should not replace reading the actual layout.

Before paying for a suite, identify the problem it solves. A separate bedroom may be useful for a sleeping child; two queen beds may matter more to friends. Ask whether a listed living area includes an approved sleeper, rather than assuming a sofa is a sofa bed.

If you plan to cook, compare hotels with kitchens directly. A suite with a bar and small refrigerator is not automatically an apartment-style kitchen.

Airport shuttle: reserve a seat before travel

The official airport-shuttle page describes a scheduled service reserved for hotel guests. It asks guests to book once flight information is available and says same-day reservations are not accepted. Unreserved seats may be offered subject to availability.

This is useful transport, but it is not an on-demand transfer. Match the current schedule to your flight, allow for baggage and confirm the correct terminal pickup instructions with the hotel. Keep an alternative for a delay or a departure outside the operating window.

Do not read an airport-shuttle benefit as a free journey to every Strip hotel or event. Our airport-shuttle guide separates hotel-specific services from other ways of reaching accommodation.

Parking, resort charge and the full stay cost

As checked in October 2026, South Point’s hotel page lists a $33 resort charge per room per night and describes free valet, garage and surface parking. Confirm the tax treatment and your final total in the dated reservation offer.

The resort charge covers specified services, including scheduled airport transport. It does not make every activity or meal part of the room rate. Avoid counting an included mandatory fee twice when comparing an all-in quote with an itemized one.

Compare the complete stay price using the same nights, party and cancellation terms. A higher Saturday rate can change the result of a comparison built around an attractive weekday advertisement. Read our resort-fee guide for the broader cost framework.

Pool, bowling and the spa-renovation notice

South Point advertises a pool and hot tub; check current access and operating conditions for the stay you want. The hotel’s amenities page still states that the spa is closed for renovation with an anticipated fall 2026 reopening. Because October falls within that period, obtain confirmation of an actual reopening before reserving a spa-focused trip.

Its bowling center has 64 lanes and warns that tournaments, events and maintenance can affect open bowling. A hotel booking is not a lane reservation. Coordinate the two when bowling is the main purpose of the visit.

The entertainment mix makes South Point worth comparing for families who want activities on site. Nevertheless, sleeping capacity, child supervision, separate activity charges and the daily itinerary should all be established before booking.

South Point alternatives

Silverton is another south-valley casino option with a different room and pool setting. Our South Point versus Silverton comparison explains the choice. For a kitchen-based stay, compare airport-area suites rather than expecting the standard South Point room to provide cooking facilities.

FAQ

Is South Point a good hotel without a car?

It can work for a stay centered on the property, with a confirmed airport-transfer plan. Repeated Strip outings require a separate transport budget and may favor another base.

Is the airport shuttle guaranteed with a room?

The hotel asks for advance reservations and describes capacity and schedule limitations. Confirm your seat and keep current pickup instructions.

Is the spa open?

The official amenities page still carries a renovation notice and fall 2026 forecast. Ask for an actual reopening confirmation for your dates; the forecast alone is insufficient.
