W Las Vegas is the former Delano tower at Mandalay Bay: a non-gaming, smoke-free suite hotel on the South Strip. Choose it when you want a separate living area and access to Mandalay Bay’s facilities. The main reasons to reconsider are the location, the absence of sofa beds in its suites, and an arrival-area transformation that the hotel’s current room page asks guests to expect.
Is W Las Vegas the right suite hotel?
W works well for couples, stadium trips and travelers who want Mandalay Bay amenities with a separate hotel entrance and suite layout. Compare the exact bed configuration before booking for a family. A suite here is not automatically a kitchen suite or a room that sleeps five.
Is this the former Delano?
Yes. The hotel became W Las Vegas in December 2024. Older booking addresses and reviews can still use Delano or THEhotel. Look at the current property name and room description, then read older reviews in the context of that history.
A new brand name does not establish that every suite or public space has been renovated. The hotel’s room page currently mentions a new arrival experience being created and advises guests that they may see the transformation during their stay. Ask about work affecting your dates if construction noise or access changes would be a problem.
Which suite should you choose?
The standard W Premier King and Two Queen suites are listed at 725 square feet. The important difference is sleeping capacity, not just the extra space around the beds.
| Suite | Official size | Listed beds | Published maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| W Premier King | 725 sq ft | One king | 3 guests |
| W Premier Two Queen | 725 sq ft | Two queens | 4 guests |
| W Corner King | 741 sq ft | One king | 2 guests |
| W Premier Two Bedroom | 1,142 sq ft | One king and two queens | 6 guests |
These specifications were checked on the hotel’s room page on October 16, 2026. The hotel explicitly states that its suites do not include pullout couch beds. A maximum guest count also does not tell you where an extra person will sleep, so confirm any additional bedding before reserving.

For two travelers, a Premier King can provide useful living space without requiring a more expensive category. A family of five should examine the approved two-bedroom option rather than planning to use a standard suite’s sofa as a bed.

Strip view, stadium view or standard view?
W markets Strip-view and stadium-view categories alongside its standard suites. A view upgrade makes sense when spending time looking out from the room is part of the trip. It may matter less for a schedule centered on meetings or a single evening event.
Treat the wording on your confirmation as the product. A request for a view is different from purchasing a named view category. Stadium-view accommodation is also not a substitute for an event ticket or a promise of seeing the action inside the venue.
WET Deck and Mandalay Bay Beach
W offers its own WET Deck and access to Mandalay Bay Beach. That combination is one of the strongest reasons to stay here: you can choose a suite-hotel base while using the wider resort’s pool facilities.

Verify the specific facilities and hours for your dates. A beach complex includes attractions with separate operating schedules and rules. Winter operation, weather and maintenance can change which parts are available.
For children, confirm the wave-pool requirements and the difference between family areas and adults-only venues. For a quiet couples’ afternoon, ask about WET Deck operation rather than assuming the larger beach complex will provide the atmosphere you want.
Location and getting around
The hotel is at 3940 South Las Vegas Boulevard on the Mandalay Bay campus. It is useful for Mandalay Bay venues and travelers attending events in the nearby stadium area. Read the Allegiant Stadium hotel guide for event-day access considerations.
The South Strip location is a compromise for repeated trips to central and northern resorts. The Mandalay Bay–Luxor–Excalibur tram helps within the southern resort cluster, but it is not a direct ride to every hotel on the Strip.
If your schedule revolves around Bellagio, ARIA and The Cosmopolitan, compare Vdara. If it revolves around Mandalay Bay, remaining on the same campus can save repeated travel planning.

Restaurants, spa and casino access
W does not have a casino inside its own hotel tower. Mandalay Bay provides nearby gaming, restaurants and entertainment. That is a useful distinction for someone who wants access to a casino without placing it in the hotel arrival experience.
The property markets BATHHOUSE Spa, but treatments and spa access are separate booking decisions. Confirm the services and facilities available during any transformation work. Likewise, check current restaurant and lounge operation before organizing an evening around an older review.
W is not the right choice if a residential kitchen is essential. Compare hotels with kitchens rather than assuming a large suite has cooking facilities.
Fees, deposits and value
Compare W with Mandalay Bay using the total for the same dates and guest count. Add mandatory charges, taxes, parking and any extra-person costs. Check whether the cancellation deadlines are comparable before deciding that a suite upgrade is inexpensive.
The deposit or incidental authorization is separate from the price of the stay. If using a debit card, read the hotel deposit guide and confirm the card policy directly with the hotel.
Prices vary according to travel dates and availability.
