Las Vegas hotel rewards rates can change the best booking choice even when an online travel agency shows a lower starting amount. The useful comparison includes the room, mandatory fees, parking, cancellation terms and benefits you already qualify for. A membership discount and an elite-status benefit are different things.

Quick answer

Check your signed-in hotel rate alongside the same room on Booking.com and compare the complete stay. MGM’s published Gold-and-above resort-fee waiver requires an eligible direct reservation and status at the time of stay. Caesars publishes different Diamond and Seven Stars terms. Free membership alone does not establish either benefit.

Compare rewards rates with the same room and conditions

First match dates, guest count, room category and cancellation deadline. A flexible member rate is not directly comparable to a prepaid nonrefundable promotion with a different bed configuration. Our best way to book Las Vegas hotels guide explains how to compare the booking itself before assigning value to perks.

Then list every amount payable during the stay. Include resort fees, parking and extras required by your party. A discounted room can still cost more overall if an eligible direct booking removes a charge that remains on another reservation.

Keep the comparison in money before adding points. If you cannot explain how you will use a benefit, do not assign it an optimistic cash value. A lower complete price with useful cancellation terms may be preferable to earning a small balance you are unlikely to redeem.

MGM Rewards: distinguish membership from Gold status

MGM’s current tier benefits separate member offers from elite benefits. The published resort-fee waiver applies to eligible Gold-and-above members booking directly, under their name, with their eligible account attached. The terms specify up to two room reservations per trip and status at the time of stay, with exclusions.

That detail can change a two-room comparison, but it should not be extended to every group booking or package. Read the restrictions attached to the actual reservation. If your status changes during the stay, the published terms describe checking eligibility with the front desk; keep the booking details available.

Free self-parking is another tier-specific benefit shown in the program. Confirm the relevant property’s current arrangements and your eligibility rather than assuming every member card removes every parking charge. Our parking fee guide helps you record that separately from the room total.

For a hotel choice, compare the ARIA review, Bellagio review and Park MGM review. A reward offer is only useful if the hotel’s location and room product suit your trip.

Caesars Rewards: read its own benefit conditions

Caesars’ benefits overview lists a resort-fee benefit for Diamond and Seven Stars members. Its footnote describes one room per stay per eligible member, where applicable. That is different wording from MGM’s program and should be checked independently.

Do not translate the name of a tier between programs. Gold, Platinum and Diamond can mean different things across hotel groups. Use the account and terms for the company operating your actual hotel, and confirm the eligible member is properly associated with the reservation.

The Caesars hotel-credit FAQ also states a direct-booking requirement for earning the room-related credits it describes. A fee benefit and earning credits are separate questions. Verify both instead of assuming that adding an account number gives every reservation the same treatment.

Our Caesars Palace review covers the hotel itself. If the offer names a tower or room product, compare that category rather than treating every room at Caesars Palace as equivalent.

Compare a member rate, package and complimentary offer

Complimentary room offerComplete payable totalFees, taxes, eligible dates and conditions

Complimentary describes the offer’s covered component, not necessarily the complete stay. Read the final payable amount before reserving. A personal offer may also have restrictions that do not appear in the general membership chart.

For credit packages, use our resort-credit guide to compare real spending. A restaurant credit is not cash, and a benefit that expires unused should not be counted as though it reduced your bill by its full advertised value.

When an online travel agency can still make sense

An OTA can remain competitive when its full price and cancellation terms work better for the same room. Travelers without relevant elite status should compare actual eligible benefits rather than pricing their stay as if a waiver were available. The direct rate does not win simply because it is direct.

Likewise, do not assume an OTA reservation will qualify for the same points, status credit or benefits as a hotel-channel booking. Read the hotel’s rules and the offer’s description. Our best-rate guarantee guide covers a separate process with matching and deadline requirements; it is not a universal promise to refund every lower price you find.

Save a screenshot or copy of the final terms for the rate you choose. If a benefit is decisive, confirm it before the cancellation deadline. That is easier than trying to resolve a disputed assumption after checking in.

Value existing status without buying benefits you do not need

This guide is about using membership and status you already have to compare lodging. Do not treat extra gambling or unnecessary purchases as a reliable way to reduce a hotel bill. A published benefit does not make the cost of obtaining it a saving on this trip.

Check the account’s status validity and the reservation dates. A benefit shown today may require eligible status when you actually stay, and a future trip can fall after a renewal period. Keep the comparison focused on benefits you can confirm for those dates.

Finally, compare at least one hotel outside the program. Our no-resort-fee hotel guide provides another way to evaluate the complete cost, while where to stay in Las Vegas helps prevent a loyalty offer from steering you to the wrong neighborhood.

FAQ

Does joining MGM Rewards remove resort fees?

Free membership alone does not establish that benefit. MGM publishes an eligible Gold-and-above direct-booking waiver with specific conditions. Check your current status, the named guest and the reservation channel.

Does Caesars Diamond cover several rooms?

The published resort-fee footnote describes one room per stay per eligible member, where applicable. Confirm the arrangements for your booking rather than applying the benefit to every room in a group.

Will an OTA booking earn the same hotel credits?

Not necessarily. Earning rules and stay benefits are separate, and programs can restrict eligible channels. Read the current program terms before counting points or tier credit in the comparison.

Should I always book the member rate?

No. Compare the same room’s complete cost, useful benefits and flexibility. Use the best hotel shortlist to check that the offer also matches the location and stay you want.
